Fire Prevention is a very important part of the Fire Service. Our goal is to give you all of the information that we can to help you be Fire Ready, Fire Safe, and Fire Smart. We partner with multiple Fire Prevention Programs that all have very useful and life saving information, as well as give multiple presentations to local schools and groups of children on the importance of knowing this information each year.
The YouTube video above by the UL Firefighter Safety Research Institute demonstrates the importance of closing your bedroom doors when you go to sleep. Their studies from another video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nu5ICj3LwqE ) have shown that the Peak Temperature at 4ft above the ground in a bedroom with an open door reached 500°F with Carbon Monoxide levels at 6,000 parts per million vs. 100°F and 600 parts per million in the bedroom with the door closed.
